The Shoppe Associate supports the daily operation of the Boutique Hospice Shoppe, including customer service, donation intake, sorting, pricing, and merchandising. This role helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment and contributes to the success of the store by working closely with staff and volunteers. All sales support the mission of Hospice SENB and end-of-life care in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers; process sales using the POS system.
Accept, sort, and assess donations for quality and resale.
Price and prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
Maintain clean, organized displays and donation areas.
Follow safety procedures and assist with daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Experience in retail, customer service, or donation sorting is an asset.
Friendly, reliable, and adaptable with strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working with and supporting volunteers.
Comfortable using basic digital tools and technology, including inventory systems, email, and data entry software.
Fluent in English and French (preferred)
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Working Conditions
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
Fast-paced retail environment with frequent standing, lifting, and interaction with the public.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
