Our company has been building custom stairs and railings for a better part of two decades.
We have an opening for a fulltime, permanent Shop Production Finishing
Carpenter who would enjoy working in a fast paced and team- based environment. The position is responsible for manufacturing of wood stair and railing components, as well as construction and repairs of other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, steel and other materials.
Main Responsibilities
Read and interpret work orders, sketches and drawings to determine specifications and requirements
Collaborate with all departments in completing tasks, as part of the production process
Select, measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of solid wood (no plywood, MDF or other wood substitutes) using nails, staples, screws, bolts or glue; perform other tasks related to manufacturing of wood stair and railing components
Provide assistance to stair department as needed
Determine the priorities for work to be done based on needs communicated by the shop foreman/supervisor and/or project managers
Set up and operate woodworking equipment
Keep records of time and material used for each job
Occasional shipping and receiving duties
Occasional visits to job sites to help with railing and stair installation
Perform routine equipment maintenance
Occasional driving of company vehicles
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of trade mathematics in both imperial and metric measurements
Ability to do precision work without close supervision
Ability to use hand tools and power tools in a safe manner
Physical strength and manual dexterity
Valid and unrestricted driver's license
Excellent attendance record
First Aid Certification is an asset
Forklift Certification is an asset
You will work 40 hours per week in an indoor state-of-the art 15,000 sq. ft. facility.
