About the Role

Prospec Steel Fabrication

is seeking a

full-time-permanent Shop Labourer / Bandsaw Operator

to join our team at Prospec Steel Fabrication. This position involves operating a bandsaw table, reading blueprints, assisting with warehouse duties, and supporting steel fabrication projects.

No formal experience is required for this role, however, applicants with experience in construction, carpentry, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or similar industrial roles will be considered an asset.

Sudbury, Ontario

, specializing in engineering and fabrication projects primarily in Northern Ontario, with a focus on the mining and heavy industrial sectors. We are a close-knit team of approximately 20 professionals, including labourers, apprentices, and experienced staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

Follows and complies with all government legislation and company policies & procedures. Operate a bandsaw table safely and efficiently for steel fabrication tasks. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate cutting and material preparation. Ensure proper load securement for shipping and assist with unloading incoming shipments. Sort, organize, and maintain inventory of incoming and outgoing products. Assist with general warehouse duties, including cleaning and organizing work areas. Participate in pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any job. Safely operate equipment in municipal and industrial settings. Assist in maintaining shop and equipment records. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ontario driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. Ability to pass required training, background check, and drug & alcohol testing.

Safety-focused attitude with experience in construction, carpentry, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or similar industrial roles are considered an asset.

Forklift or Loader Operator Certification is considered an asset.

Experience with powered hand tools, pneumatic tools, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. Basic computer skills for inventory and record-keeping.
