Role Summary:

Reporting to the Project Coordinator in Edmonton, the primary functions of the Shop Laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace while also supporting the overall shop team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning and sweeping. Buffing beams. Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties. Operating basic hand tools and powered hand tools. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.

Core Competencies:

Reliable, organized, and attentive to details. Ability to function as part of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Knowledge of welding equipment, construction materials, and fabrication techniques. Safety focused. Positive attitude towards learning, motivating, working on a team, and engaging with customers, if required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Clear communicator both written and verbally.

Education /Professional Training Requirements:

Must have valid driver's license and a driver's abstract, evidencing a clean driving record and a non-graduated driver's license. Communication skills. Personable and professional, excellent customer service skills. Fast-learner and team player with an aptitude for continuous improvements.

Working Conditions:

Warehouse and office environment. Safety precautions are highly important. Steel toed footwear is required. Eye protection is provided.
