Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Hand / Driver to join our production team. This hands-on role supports daily shop operations while assisting with shipping and receiving activities as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of performing a variety of physical and technical tasks across the production floor. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of shop work, equipment handling, and logistics support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A valid forklift operator's license and a clean Class 5 driver's license are required.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Hand / Driver Responsibilities:
Pick, pack, and ship finished components and parts to customers.
Build and assemble boxes, pallets, and crates for outbound shipments.
Load and unload trucks safely; receive and organize incoming stock and materials.
Verify shipment accuracy and condition of parts received and shipped.
Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) and coordinate courier and freight shipments.
Deliver and pick up tools, materials, and parts from customers and suppliers as needed.
Ensure safe operation and maintenance of all company vehicles and equipment.
Use basic computer skills to maintain shipment records and inventory organization
Assist with daily shop operations, including material preparation, part assembly, and general production support.
Operate basic power tools, hand tools, and equipment safely and with precision.
Perform part preparation, painting, polishing, and engraving (CNC and hand).
Support machinists and welders with setup, staging, and movement of parts and materials.
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move workpieces and components within the shop.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area; assist with general facility upkeep.
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of shop tools and machines.
Participate in maintaining production flow and assisting with other departments as required.
Education & Experience:
2-4 years of experience in a shop or shipping-related role.
Valid forklift operator's license.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Driver's abstract must be provided during the hiring process.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.
Dependable, adaptable, and able to work both independently and in a team setting.

Schedule & Compensation
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Overtime: Available as needed, including some Saturdays
