Role: Reporting to the Logistics and Facility Coordinator, you will perform various tasks within the Aureus Shop and yard. All tasks and assignments follow established procedures while working in a professional, safe, and cost-effective manner. Preference will be given to those with prior shop hand experience. The schedule for this position is 10 days on with 4 days off, with a possibility for overtime. Job duties
Responsible for daily maintenance of Aureus equipment
Responsible for shop inventory
Responsible safe operation of Forklifts, Pallet jacks, yard loaders, and Light Pickup truck operation
Assisting crews with job Pre & De mobilization
Perform general facility up-keep, maintenance, and organization duties
Assist Coordinators, Field Supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s, shop / office personnel, and crews as required
General assembly work that may require operating automated machinery and various power/hand tools.
Maintain wash bay for cleanliness and organization
Assist with special projects and cover for multiple positions as required (In town and field light hotshots)
Monitor conditions of all equipment with a focus on safety, environment, and efficiency
Other duties as required
Job Requirements: Experience & Training
1-5 years shop Hand or general laborer experience
Prior hot shot experience is an asset
Preference is given to those with heavy equipment operation experience
Must possess a clean driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract
Must possess a valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
Proven supervisory and leadership skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Valid safety tickets required: First Aid, H2S Alive, CSO, WHIMIS, and TDG
Physical Requirements
Must be physically fit and able to pass our pre-employment screening
Physical requirements include bending, safely lifting up to 20 kgs, working in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment
Willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather
Skills & Expectations
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer
Travel to remote regions on winter roads with the potential to work alone
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Willing to comply with all safety policies and procedures
Willing to comply with Aureus\xe2\x80\x99 drug & alcohol-free and harassment-free work environment
