The Shop Foreperson is a key supervisory role within our manufacturing shop. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing shop personnel, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervision of Staff: Direct and coordinate the activities of shop employees.
Work Scheduling: Assign tasks, set work priorities, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work for accuracy and adherence to company standards and customer specifications.
Safety Enforcement: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols.
Inventory Control: Oversee inventory of steel, tools, and equipment; order supplies as needed.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that shop machinery and tools are properly maintained and operational.
Reporting: Prepare reports on shop activities, productivity, and personnel performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Several years of hands-on experience in a relevant trade (e.g., construction, manufacturing, maintenance).
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of shop operations, equipment, and repair techniques.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
Organizational Skills: Skilled in organizing workflow, managing schedules, and maintaining records.
Safety Awareness: Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
FLUENT IN SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH.
Starting Wage of $36/hr.
