The
Shop Controller
is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of repairs in the shop.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritize and dispatch work for the shop.
Maintain shop capacity, efficiency and productivity.
Monitor the availability of technicians and inform the Service Advisors and Managers on absences or delays.
Assign work to technicians in a fair and equitable manner according to individual skill level.
Use internal repair orders and pre-delivery inspections/checks to help reach production goals and complete internal work in a timely manner.
Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance workshop productivity and efficiency to Service Management.
Manage promise times and proactively follow up on delayed repairs
Works with the management team to ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved.
Controls internal & external sublet, including the issuance (& tracking) of purchase orders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
+ High School Diploma Specialized knowledge
+ Knowledge of shop environment, procedures and scheduling.
+ Knowledge of the mechanical function as it applies to the safe maintenance and repair activities within the shop.
+ Computer knowledge. Skills
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Above average time management and organizational skills.
+ Requires accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication. Abilities
+ Ability to develop, maintain and support collaborative and cooperative working relationships.
+ Ability to accurately meet service delivery expectations and commitments in accordance with customer requirements.
+ Ability to effectively plan, implement and monitor a wide range of concurrent repair and maintenance schedules to ensure optimum shop performance.
+ Ability to project a professional company image.
+ Ability to manage time efficiently. Experience
+ Basic computer knowledge.
+ Experience in the mechanical trades would be considered an asset.
