Brief Description





The position of Shop Associate at Honey Electric Limited involves supporting shop operations by performing a variety of tasks related to receiving, handling, and tracking inventory goods. As a Shop Associate, you will contribute to the efficient movement of material, inventory management, supporting shop and jobsite needs, and maintaining a well-organized shop environment and safe and clear premises.

Tasks








Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments, verify quantities and check for damaged or defective items. Sort, label, and properly store products in designated areas within the shop and storage facilities. Select, pack, and prepare orders for deliveries/shipment(s) according to established procedures. Safely drive a motor vehicle and provide exceptional customer service to vendors and customers. Operate various equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts and telescopic handler to move products within the shop and jobsites. Maintain accurate inventory records by documenting stock levels and reporting discrepancies. Assist with cycle counts and participate in physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy as needed. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shop, including sweeping, arranging shelves, and disposing of packaging materials. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and efficient shop. Follow safety guidelines and practices to prevent accidents, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintaining cleanliness and order of facilities, including floors, emptying trash, sanitation and cleaning of the facility. Perform snow removal, lawn care and/or other outdoor activities. Perform other tasks and duties assigned.



Qualifications and Requirements






Post secondary education in business administration, supply chain management, or logistics. Certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management or similar course completion. Current certifications in heavy machinery operations and warehouse operations. Class "A" restricted licence. Proven experience in operating heavy equipment and handling materials or in a similar role. Ability to operate equipment, including forklift, scissor lift and telescopic handler. Physical stamina and the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items. Attention to detail and accuracy in picking, wrapping, loading and inventory management. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and follow instructions. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Computer skills and for inventory tracking and order processing. Experience with safety practices and protocols related to shop operations.

Lines of Communication






The Shop Associate reports to the Shop Foreman and collaborates closely with other team members.



Working Conditions






This is a full-time position with standard working hours, and may include weekends and holidays. The Shop Associate typically works in a shop environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures. The role involves physical activities and the operation of heavy equipment. The position requires personnel coverage at multiple locations.



Compensation





Hourly rate (range from $44,616 to $58,916)
