Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Shop Helper, under the direction of the Fleet Manager (Red Seal Mechanic). This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming full-time, including potential advancement into a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of duties in support of shop operations and fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assist with loading and unloading materials. Support the daily operation of the shop by keeping tools, parts, and work areas clean and organized Perform routine cleaning and detailing of company vehicles and equipment to keep the fleet looking professional and well-maintained. Take pride in keeping the shop environment safe, tidy, and efficient through regular sweeping and power washing. Basic service and maintenance of small equipment (generators, pumps, etc.) Assist with general vehicle/equipment maintenance under supervision Follow all Work Safe BC health and safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Mechanical aptitude or interest in pursuing a trade. Physically able to lift 50 lbs. Dependable, self-motivated, and a strong team player Basic knowledge of tools and equipment is an asset. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Comfortable working in all weather conditions
