BMT Group | Island Hino is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to join our team located in beautiful Sidney, British Columbia. This is a full-time, permanent position and reports to the Parts Manager.

Responsibilities



Delivers parts to technicians or part recipients; pulls orders for counter persons when necessary Prepares and picks/assembles shipments as assigned Oversees the secure and accurate loading of deliveries Performs quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for outgoing / incoming items prior to signing off Uploads and organizes the shipping pictures onto the server Strives to consistently meet delivery deadlines and maintain 100% order accuracy Assists with parts inventory, including stocking shelves, organizing bins, binning new parts, and recording the location, conducting perpetual bin audits, and maintaining special order bins Provides support in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies Performs and assists with inventory checks as required Immediately notifies the Parts Manager of damaged parts or shortages Processes and follows up on returns Assists in physical parts inventory annually Processes all required paperwork and maintains adequate records for reporting Maintains clean and organized work area; all materials stored below the counter area or on shelves Other duties as assigned

Knowledge



Post-Secondary Education is an asset At least 1 year shipping/receiving experience Excellent customer service skills Experience in an automotive/heavy-duty truck environment is preferred Basic understanding of truck and trailer components (e.g., tires, brakes, fluids, filters, lights, etc.) Awareness of shop tools, equipment, and materials used in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair Familiarity with environmental handling procedures for oils, coolants, and waste materials Class 5 driver's license is required

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Strong organizational skills and detail oriented Strong communication and interpersonal skills Team player to interface and service inter-departmental and customer needs Ability to measure parts using precision measuring tools Strong problem-solving skills Forklift experience is preferred Strong computer skills Preferred MS Office applications, with proficiency in Word and Excel

Abilities



Willingness and ability to learn new mechanical and technical tasks Capable of adhering to all safety policies, including PPE use and hazard reporting Flexibility to assist in different shop areas or perform varied duties as needed Able to stand and work for extended periods of time - up to 8hrs increments Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly Able to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods Work both indoors and outdoors and feel comfortable working in crowded spaces and in all weather conditions and noise levels
