Job Duties



Answer and make phone calls and emails for sales and marketing purposes. Troubleshoot issues with orders and communicate with customers about their orders. Process incoming orders. Use shopify and/or other software to create labels and fulfill orders/shipments. Prepare envelopes/boxes to be mailed across Canada and beyond. Manage and maintain inventory in the office and offsite. Move and package boxes of books, as required. Some boxes will be heavy. Unpack pallets utilizing the appropriate safety measures. Sell books to the public at tradeshows and local events. Administrative publishing support, includes researching and proof-reading. Marketing support, includes emailing, organizing lists, phone calling, etc... At times assist in reviewing documents related to the publishing program. At times, travel to warehouses and storage locations across the Greater Victoria Area. Maintain the office space, including monitoring bills, covering insurance Other duties may be assigned based on requirements of the company and abilities of the employee. Able and available to work 30-40 hours per week. The occasional weekend event (i.e. pow wow, book launch, teachers' conference).

Assets to be Considered:



Higher Education Knowledge of the book publishing industry Sales and Customer Service experience Knowledge of Indigenous cultural teachings, protocols and stories. Bilingual - French (written and verbal) A vehicle Qualified Indigenous candidates will be given preference for this position*.

Additional Information:



This is strictly an in-person position (Victoria, BC, V9B 1P7) Probationary period: Full time contract with a 3-6 month probationary period. Includes paid benefits for the employee: dental care, extended health care, vision care, paid time off and sick days. Hours: 30-40 hours per week. Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday
