Medline Canada is looking for a dedicated Shipping Coordinator with the below skills and qualifications to join its operations team in Milton, ON.

Job Title: Shipping Coordinator ($20.50/hour)
Reporting to: Distribution Manager

JOB SUMMARY
  • Reporting to the Distribution Manager, this position is responsible for the coordination of inbound and outbound carriers and the completion of SAP transactions as it pertains to the receiving and put away of order picking and shipping functions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creates shipping documents including Bill of Ladings, Shipping labels, and other vital documents.
  • Provides timely and effective communications to the business team and freight carriers regarding shipments.
  • Coordinates with other departments as necessary to fulfill customer special requirements.
  • Coordinates logistics with freight forwarders, couriers and other carriers for movement of goods in most cost effective manner
  • Processes all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Maintains and services all requests for top accounts
  • Maintains filing of shipping documents.
  • Prepares and schedules shipments as assigned.
  • Tracks shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
  • Manages inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Performs quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
  • Reports discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Ensures that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Problem solves for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries.
  • Maintains organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Loads material properly and accurately to prevent damage and maximize space
  • Prepares quotes for customers, which will involve examining products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
  • Provides routing information and issuing shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct location.
  • Responsible for tracking of goods enroute to their destination ensuring any problems that may arise are resolved so as to avoid delays.
  • Assists supervisor and team lead in daily operation
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Post-secondary degree in supply chain management or related degree
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional listening and problem resolution skills; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with dedication to meeting deadlines.
  • High sense of urgency and customer service
  • Previous SAP experience considered an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Operate MHE as required
