Apex Aluminum Extrusions Ltd. is a state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory with a 170,000 square foot facility and some of the most modern equipment in its industry. We believe in the ongoing investment and development of our processes and people.
We are actively seeking next level players to join our team and are currently hiring for a Shipping Coordinator - for our manufacturing facility in Langley.
Shift Details – Rotating Shift Weekend Fri to Sun 7am – 7:30 pm Weekdays Mon to Thurs 7 am to 3:30 pm

A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE:
  • Working with production control to set up a rigid shipment schedule that is understood by all departments to ship 100% complete, good quality and on time,
  • Working with the Fleet Manager to arrange the required trucks,
  • Understanding and training each employee on the specific customers packaging, loading, and storage requirements.
  • Communicating all shortages of shipments or changes in shipments schedule to the sales team immediately,
  • Managing the paperwork flow/communication for all Shipping Documents right from when the Shipping paperwork is created for each load.
  • Reporting to the Materials Manager any worker non-performance and all production deficiencies caused by missed shipments,
  • Ensuring that all load paperwork is filled in correctly and timely. This will include all boarder paperwork,
  • Liaising with Sales and the customers on any shipping issues that may arise
  • Other duties, as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Customer packaging expectations including any plastic wrapping prior to shipment.
  • Proper tagging procedures for all customers.
  • Unloading capabilities for all customers.
  • What equipment will be available on a daily or weekly basis?
  • What are the maximum weight and length requirements for each type of equipment?
  • What strapping requirements are for each type of trailer and each type of load?
  • Have a good understanding of how to load trucks according to stop locations.
  • How to correctly fill out shipping documents including Customs documents.
  • How to create loading list and manifest for shipments.
  • Understanding the shipping procedures, RMA’s, supplies, etc.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Establish communications with the logistics team so that each facility knows what time a truck will be available for loading and what time the truck will leave.
  • Work with Supervisors to understand the flow of orders through the production floor.
