Job Summary Statement:
The primary role of the Shipment Coordinator is to track and trace all shipments from the time they are scheduled to be picked up until the time they are delivered to ensure all customers' requirements are met or exceeded.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
For shipments handled by company, use internal telematic systems to ensure pick up or delivery schedules are being met in accordance with customer requirements.
For shipments handled by partner carriers, Call, E-mail, access carrier websites or other tracking solutions, to ensure pick up or delivery schedules are being met in accordance with customer requirements.
Ensure shipment tracking notes are entered into TMS system, reflecting event status, any delays, issues, resolutions, etc.
Update corresponding operational team members (i.e. Dispatchers etc.) of any issues or delays and ensure we proactively communicate with customers.
Maintain regular contact with drivers/carriers, while shipments are enroute to ensure we stay updated on the status of all shipments and proactively communicate with customers.
Provide after-hours/nightshift with a status of all shipments needing to be managed during off business hours.
Ensure any information required for roots cause analyst or scorecard requirements are updated in TMS system.
Run daily tracing reports from TMS System, to prioritize all shipments required to be traced on a daily basis.
Other administrative duties and assignments assigned
Job Specifications--Skills and Competencies:
Experience within the Transportation/Logistics industry is an asset.
College diploma or university degree in Business or Transportation Administration an asset.
Knowledge of North American geography
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
