Job Summary


The Shipping Clerk plays a vital role in coordinating, recording, and tracking all shipping and receiving activities. This position ensures that shipments are accurately documented, processed, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining clear communication with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers.

Responsibilities



Greet carriers at the office and ensure a professional and friendly reception. Direct carriers to the appropriate loading or unloading dock. Process and verify customer and internal orders accurately and promptly. Confirm appointment times with carriers, dispatchers, and internal departments to ensure on-time operations. Manage and update the daily appointment schedule in coordination with the logistics team. Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and external partners to ensure smooth operations. Prepare, review, and file shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and delivery notes. Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders for shipment scheduling and issue resolution. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all shipping and receiving activities. Perform data entry and maintain shipment logs using company software systems. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and shipping regulations. Communicate effectively with customers and drivers to address any delivery or pickup concerns. Support the warehouse team with labeling, packaging, and documentation when required. Assist with office administrative duties including filing, scanning, and responding to logistics inquiries. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within the shipping process. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe office and dock area.

Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics, business, or a related field is an asset. Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry systems. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Dependability, adaptability, and resilience in handling daily challenges.

Work Schedule



Mon -Fri (8:00am - 4:30pm)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
