The Shipping and Procurement Coordinator will be a central figure in our operations, responsible for overseeing both inbound (procurement) and outbound (shipping) logistics. This dual-role requires a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation skills to ensure materials are acquired efficiently and products are delivered on time and within budget.

Job Role & Responsibilities:



Procurement (Inbound Logistics):



Purchasing:

Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, supplies, and services necessary for production, ensuring the best value and quality.

Inventory Control:

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for key materials, creating and placing purchase orders to prevent shortages or delays.

Vendor Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manage vendor contracts, and evaluate vendor performance.

Cost Management:

Track purchase orders and material costs, identifying opportunities for savings and process improvements.

Shipping (Outbound Logistics):



Shipment Coordination:

Organize, schedule, and coordinate the transportation of finished insulated panels to customer job sites across various locations.

Documentation:

Prepare all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, customs forms (if applicable), and tracking labels.

Carrier Management:

Liaise with various freight carriers and couriers, negotiate shipping rates, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

Logistics Optimization:

Plan and optimize shipment routes and loading schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs.

Receiving:

Assist in coordinating the receiving process for incoming raw materials, verifying counts against purchase orders.

Qualifications and Skills:



Proven experience in a shipping, logistics, purchasing, or procurement coordination role. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and freight documentation procedures. Excellent negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with an ERP or inventory management system is an asset. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
