We are seeking an individual to join our team who brings a positive hands-on attitude with experience as a Shipping Supervisor.SummaryThe Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the shipping and receiving of raw and finished steel components for our company and our customers. The Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of staff members as well as processes and procedures in the shipping department.
Accurate record keeping and documentation is essential.Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and provide supervision, training and scheduling to shipping personnel, shop foreman and drivers.
• Review job documents and drawings to determine hardware requirements and additional items required for shipping.
• Prepare bills of lading/packing lists and proper permits for Canada/USA shipments.

Track deadlines and dates accurately and effectively.

• Respond proactively to worker performance - discipline, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters.
• Ensure the cost effectiveness of each delivery, including the control of labour utilization - preventing downtime and overtime
• Determine routing according to schedules, local weight limits and regulations.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, or other customer issues
• Follow Safe Work Policies, Practices, and Procedures while performing all tasks and handling hazardous material safely

Education, Experience and other skills:

• High School Diploma, or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Organization, documentation and mechanical aptitude skills are an asset
• Operating equipment, powered and hand tools

Compensation:

• Salary to be on an hourly basis $27 plus depending on qualifications and experience with

10% vacation/stat pay. Overtime remunerated at 1.5x
