Julliette's Place is a trauma-informed, feminist organization dedicated to providing safe shelter and holistic support for women and their dependents fleeing intimate partner violence. Our multidisciplinary team offers crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy to empower survivors on their journey to safety and stability.
Position Overview
The Shelter Manager is responsible for daily operations, manage program staff, placement students, and volunteers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality client-centered services. You'll champion best practices in trauma-informed care, collaborate on strategic initiatives, and uphold the organization's core values in all areas of your work.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, students, and volunteers to foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
Ensure compliance with federal/provincial legislation, organizational policies, collective agreements, and privacy standards.
Mentor and coach direct reports; provide ongoing feedback to optimize productivity and support career growth.
Participate in performance-management processes to meet personal, team, and organizational development goals.
Support annual budget development and manage the departmental budget, making informed decisions on resource allocation.
Represent the shelter on external committees to advance societal awareness and inform organizational practice.
Provide data and narrative input for funding proposals and reports that sustain current and future programs.
Participate in fundraising events and community outreach to build partnerships and support organizational goals.
Prepare and submit written departmental reports tracking progress toward targets, identifying trends, and informing decision-making.
Contribute to strategic planning and translate organizational objectives into departmental operational plans.
Identify, analyze, and mitigate departmental and organizational risks to ensure safety and continuity of services.
Attend, participate in, and occasionally lead management team, board, and committee meetings to set goals, develop strategies, and share information.

Qualifications
Post-secondary Degree with 5 years' related experience, or MSW with 3 years' directly related experience preferably working with survivors of intimate partner violence, homelessness, and poverty
Current RSW certification.
Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience, preferable in a unionized environment.
Demonstrated commitment to women's issues, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and ongoing professional development
French or other language proficiency is an asset.

Hours of work 37.5 weekly with some weekend work required. Due to the nature of our services this is an in-person position
Rotational ON CALL duties on a by-weekly basis
Salary Range $70,000 - $75,000.
Medical Clearance and Functional Abilities Assessment are required for this position.
