Are you passionate about driving positive change and addressing critical issues affecting
vulnerable communities? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Project
Coordinator to join our team at the Muslim Advisory Council of Canada. As the Project
Coordinator for our Gender-Based Violence (GBV) research project, you will play a key role
in enhancing services for at-risk groups, with a specific focus on Muslim women in the
Halton region.
Role Overview:
In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of a pioneering initiative led by the Muslim
Advisory Council of Canada. Through your coordination, leadership, and insights, you will
contribute to overcoming barriers, developing interventions, and strengthening community
capacity to address Gender-Based Violence issues. As the Project Coordinator, you will be
responsible for overseeing all phases of the project, ensuring effective research
coordination, and facilitating meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management:
Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, delineating
milestones, timelines, and deliverables for each research phase.
Efficiently manage project activities, ensuring alignment with project scope,
objectives, and timeline.
Foster collaboration among external research teams to ensure seamless
coordination.
Research Coordination:
Lead the execution of all three research phases
Coordinate data collection processes, surveys, interviews, and focus groups,
adhering to ethical guidelines and participant privacy.
Monitor and maintain data quality through regular reviews and audits.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate strong relationships with project partners, stakeholders, and
community members.
Organise and facilitate community forums to share research findings and
gather invaluable feedback.
Collaborate closely with advisory committee members and external research
team to ensure the active involvement of community leaders.
Product Development:
Collaborate with researchers to develop an inclusive gender-based screening
framework, serving as a guide for program implementers, healthcare
professionals, and decision-makers.
Contribute to the creation of informative materials, reports, and presentations
based on research outcomes.
Event Coordination:
Plan and execute a GBV knowledge mobilization summit in the Halton
Region, designed to disseminate research findings to stakeholders, service
providers, and community members.
Manage logistical aspects, invitations, and summit agenda.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain meticulous records of project activities, progress, and financial
expenditures.
Generate comprehensive progress reports for project partners, funders, and
internal teams.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, project management,
community engagement); Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in project coordination, particularly within research or community
development projects.
Familiarity with gender-based violence issues, social equity principles, and
community-based research methodologies.
Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, capable of managing
multiple tasks concurrently.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, adept at engaging diverse
stakeholders.
Proficiency in data management and analysis tools/software.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Culturally sensitive with a strong commitment to equity and inclusivity.
Previous experience in event planning and coordination is a plus.
Familiarity with the social landscape of the Halton Region is advantageous.
