Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled

Sheet Metal Worker

to join our team for commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with sheet metal in a construction or residential setting, with a focus on installing ducts, vents, flashings, and other metal components. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of metal systems into residential buildings, while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Install Sheet Metal Components

: Install and assemble sheet metal products such as ductwork, vent systems, flashing, chimney liners, and custom metal components in residential homes.

Read and Interpret Plans

: Review and follow blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement and installation of sheet metal materials.

Measurement and Cutting

: Measure and cut sheet metal to exact specifications, ensuring that each piece fits correctly and is securely installed.

Quality Assurance

: Perform quality checks on completed installations, ensuring they meet industry standards and project requirements for functionality and aesthetics.

Collaboration with Team

: Work alongside project managers, lead installers, and other construction professionals to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

Ensure Proper Fit and Function

: Ensure that sheet metal installations are properly sealed, fitted, and aligned to prevent leaks and improve efficiency.

Job Site Safety

: Follow all safety protocols and building codes while working on residential job sites. Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure safe working conditions.

Material Handling

: Assist in receiving and managing sheet metal materials, including checking for accuracy and ensuring proper storage for future use.

Customer Interaction

: Maintain professional communication with homeowners when needed, answering questions and ensuring satisfaction with the installation process.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance

: Operate and maintain hand and power tools used for sheet metal cutting, bending, and installation. Ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
Qualifications:

Experience

: At least 2-3 years of experience in sheet metal worker, preferably in residential projects.

Technical Skills

: Proficiency with sheet metal tools (shears, hammers, presses, and power tools) and methods for installing ducts, flashings, vents, and other metal components.

Blueprint Reading

: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately install materials.

Attention to Detail

: Strong attention to detail and precision to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), work at heights (e.g., on ladders or scaffolding), and handle physically demanding tasks.

Problem-Solving

: Ability to troubleshoot and solve installation challenges on the job site.

Communication Skills

: Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and homeowners.

Safety Awareness

: Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

Valid Driver's License

: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in HVAC or ventilation system installation. Ability to fabricate or custom-cut sheet metal pieces. Basic knowledge of residential construction or remodeling processes.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
