Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Measure and mark sheet metal according to template Prepare tenders and quotations Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal Utilize computerized quantity take-off Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification Instruct apprentices Supervise other workers Cut materials using power tools or by hand Estimate costs and materials Fit and join sheet metal parts Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
