Job Description

Welmar is looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our sheet metal welding/fitting team. Full-time shifts are available for experienced welders for stainless and carbon steel 1/8" (3mm) and thinner projects. We are a custom fabrication shop, so the project variety regularly changes.

Welder's responsibilities include:

Read blueprints and drawings Setting up and calibrating welding equipment based on process required Operate angle grinders and associated tools to prepare parts for welding Fit components to drawing specifications Weld components using MIG welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Visually inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Job Requirements: 2+ yrs experience

Proven experience as sheet metal welder/fitter Experience in using a variety of welding equipment and tools Proficiency in reading, interpreting technical documents and drawings Knowledge of safety standards and must use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.) Proficient in English Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is an asset Professional Certification (e.g. an CWB welding certificate) will be a plus
