Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Sheet Metal Bender is responsible for the manufacturing of precision high-quality parts for the aerospace, medical, and space industries. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating hydraulic press machines to bend and form sheet metal, specifically aerospace-grade aluminum components
Bending and machining
Set up machines, select proper tooling, and perform quality checks.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine material specifications, bending sequences, and angles.
Select and load appropriate sheet metal materials, ensuring that thickness, grade, and coating meet job requirements.
Operate hydraulic press brake machines to bend and shape aluminum sheet metal.
Ensure parts meet tight aerospace tolerances and specifications. Including inspection bent parts for defects such as cracks, warping, or incorrect dimensions and make necessary adjustments
Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, specific fixtures and height gauges.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the bending process
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Administration and communication
Enter production times and quantities in JobBOSS (ERP).
Stamp and fill out work order (traveler) once traveler steps are complete.
Suggest improvements to manufacturing method on provided set-up improvement sheet.
Communicate job instructions colleagues and management
Complete all other tasks as required by your leadership
Qualification Requirements

Completed training program in Bending or related field
2 years of experience in conventional machining or bending
Familiarity with using bending machines, including manual and automated equipment.
Strong understanding of metal properties and sheet metal bending processes.
Ability to read mechanical drawings
Ability to use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
Capacity to make suggestions to improve machining
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
