The Headlines

In the role of Sr. Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance Ontario/West working in Etobicoke, ON you will be part of the Canada Commercial Finance team. This role provides finance support to Commercial Business Partners & the Commercial Finance team for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for the Canadian business.

This position reports to the Director Commercial Finance West and Partnerships - and works closely with the Canadian commercial west team, Finance, and other leadership partners, as well as the Global Business Services groups.

The Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end close activities, including but not limited to, journal entries, accruals, consolidation, financial reporting, forecasting, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Use accounting principles and knowledge of internal controls in preparing accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting for use by Finance and our Commercial Business Partners.
  • Work with business partners to develop and consolidate monthly forecasting and annual budgets.
  • Demonstrates the initiative to drive change and influence others in support of the organization\'s goals and objectives.
  • Use financial analytics to develop insights and recommendations to help drive business results.
  • Educate commercial team on financial acumen, local finance policies and procedures.
  • Review, evaluate, and prioritize tasks/project assignments and communicate key issues to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
The Other Qualifications:
  • You have a CPA (or equivalent) designation or in the process of attaining CPA (or equivalent) designation.
  • You have at least 3+ years of financial analyst experience.
  • You have strong Excel skills and experience with financial software (SAP)
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent relationships within the business.
