Course Description:

The concept of landscape is an entry point for investigating the relationship between people and their environments. Through exploration in open media studio projects, written work, readings, and seminars, this course provides an opportunity to critically examine historic and contemporary artist practices around the complex and difficult positioning of landscape as a source of inspiration and as a vehicle of expression while questioning these definitions in relation to capitalism, empire, and colonialism.

$9,820.70 (Sessional Lecturer I)

Minimum Qualifications:

MA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with previous teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist. Applicants may be asked to supply references.

Preferred Qualifications:

Internationally recognized practice.

Description of Duties:

Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
