The concept of landscape is an entry point for investigating the relationship between people and their environments. Through exploration in open media studio projects, written work, readings, and seminars, this course provides an opportunity to critically examine historic and contemporary artist practices around the complex and difficult positioning of landscape as a source of inspiration and as a vehicle of expression while questioning these definitions in relation to capitalism, empire, and colonialism.
