Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Course number and title: PPG2015H-S \xe2\x80\x93 Topics in Public Policy EconomicsCourse description: The course will evaluate the relative merits of government intervention versus non-intervention in these areas, and also the potential different interventions available. Expected consequences of interventions, risks and unintended consequences will also be explored. Topics will include (but are not limited to) government budgets, environment and climate change, labour markets, labour force skills, industrial policies, income distribution, housing and the new challenges and opportunities in the economy. Specific examples will be drawn from Canadian government policy developments and Budgets during the session.Estimated course enrolment: 25 studentsEstimated TA support: N/AClass schedule: Thursdays 10am-1pm*The delivery method for this course is expected to be in-person. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department.Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 \xe2\x80\x93 April 30, 2025Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II (Long Term) - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturers III (Long Term) - $10,570.02Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum qualifications: Masters in economics required, with specialization in finance.
