Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Course Description: This is a 300-level course that will provide a holistic exploration of the multifaceted aspects of Kurdish life, delving deep into the vibrant traditions, struggles, and achievements of the Kurdish people. As we traverse through the diverse regions of Kurdistan and its diasporas, we will critically examine the current situations, challenges, and triumphs, offering an insightful perspective on a community that has played a significant role in the socio-political landscape of the Middle East. We will critically engage with classic and modern texts in Kurdish studies and examine them in the context of modern Middle East studies.
