MUI2055 - Cities, Industry and Environment: Cities, Industry and Environment is a new seminar course that is being developed for the Master of Urban Innovation Program at UTM. The course is devoted to the study of environmental impacts of (mostly urban) industrialization and to past, current and potentially new ways of analyzing and addressing them. Unlike many seminars discussing the relationship between economic growth and the environment, the perspective favoured in this course will be generally optimistic.

In MUI 2055, we will explore these issues through the lens of the circular economy and circular cities. We will examine the enablers and barriers to building circular cities through investigating the role of key stakeholders including local governments, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, financial institutions, and citizens.
