Course number and title: Sessional Lecturer - LHA1847H - Human Resource and Diversity Issues in Higher Education

Course description:

This course will explore and discuss models of and approaches to leadership as they pertain to higher education. Particular attention will be paid to equity and diversity issues within human resources, recognizing the increasing diversity of the higher education environment. The course will include an examination of (a) how equity and diversity inform our models of academic and administrative leadership; (b) what leaders might do to ensure that their institutions are viewed as Employers of Choice both nationally and internationally; (c) the role of leadership within the post secondary system in the promotion and enhancement of student learning and literature.

Class schedule (Lectures): Online Synchronous - Online synchronous course taught on the following dates, 9-5pm: July 20, 21 & 22; 25 & 26.

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,182.42
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,641.55
Sessional Lecturer II: $9,826.96
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,025.84
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,060.93
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,262.15

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications:

Candidates must hold an EdD or PhD in Higher Education or a related field and have evidence of expertise in the areas of the topic of the course and relevant professional experience. Demonstrated prior experience in graduate level teaching online, preferably using Canvas/Quercus. Demonstrated prior graduate teaching experience in the areas of course topic.

Prepare, organize, and lead this graduate half course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback.
