Course Number and Title: ENV323H1S Ontario Environmental Policy
Course Description: Introduces students to public policy and institutional foundations of public policy in Canada, with an emphasis on environmental policy in Ontario. Provides an insiders perspective on how environmental policy has been developed in Ontario.
Estimated TA Support: 50 hours (calibrated to enrollment)

Class Schedule: Wednesdays 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2026 - April 30, 2026
Salary:

• Sessional Lecturer I - $9,820.70
• Sessional Lecturer I Long-Term - $10,510.04
• Sessional Lecturer II - $10,510.04
• Sessional Lecturer II Long-Term - $10,760.28
• Sessional Lecturer III - $10,760.28
• Sessional Lecturer III Long-Term - $11,030.36

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in relevant area of study or equivalent professional and/or academic experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant academic or professional publications and previous experience teaching a similar undergraduate course are highly desirable.

Description of Duties:

• Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
• Teach the course in an in-person format
• Evaluate student performance
• Hold office hours and meet with students as they request
• Manage teaching assistant(s)
• Handle other pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with teaching an undergraduate course
