Course Code and Title: CSCD90H3 - The Startup Sandbox

Course Description: In this capstone course, students will work in teams to develop a viable product prototype following the methodologies and techniques covered in CSCD54H3. Students will produce written reports, short videos pitching their idea, and a final presentation showcasing their proposed innovation, as it would be pitched to potential investors. The course instructor and TAs will provide close supervision and mentorship throughout the project.

Qualifications: Previous teaching experience as the instructor of CSCD54H3, CSCD90H3 or their equivalents (required).

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; submission of a deferred exam; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to course. Additional duties for this course include setting up and managing mentoring for student teams by knowledgeable domain experts, setting up checkpoints for student projects, and organizing and end-of-term showcase of student work.

Estimated TA Support (Hours): Approximately 33 hours.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 5 - December 31, 2023

Salary: Sessional Lecturer I $12,700.00; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $13,450.00; Sessional Lecturer II $14,200.00; Sessional Lecturer III $15,200.00. Payment is higher than the rate in the collective agreement.
