Responsibilities:
SUNTEP Saskatoon requires a sessional instructor for DRAMA 114.3 for 2025 Fall Term. This course implements direct experience of theatre arts and crafts. The course is designed to encourage the individual's creative impulse. Students are engaged with dramatic activities for teachers. All levels are explored, and students move toward an understanding of drama in education. This course engages students in introductory principles of acting and creative expression while developing their own creative process and fostering confidence in performance. Students will develop listening skills, performers' impulses, imagination and characterization through silent and spoken improvisation, storytelling, scene breakdown, character development, and use critical and creative writing techniques to analyze theatre plays. The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students.
Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Assess student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches are an asset.
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a master's degree and/or equivalent combination of training and experience in the content area and be approved by the University of Saskatchewan. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with Indigenous student populations are an asset.
