The successful candidate(s) will have responsibilities for lecture instruction, lab co-ordination, tutorial co-ordination, and any other associated duties, for this 3-unit course during the Spring 2025 term.
CHEM 203 - General Chemistry: Change and Equilibrium
An introduction to university chemistry from theoretical and practical perspectives that focuses on an exploration of the fundamental links between kinetics, equilibria and thermodynamics and explores acidity/basicity and redox behaviour using inorganic and organic examples.
Teaching Schedule:
Lectures are MWF 12:00 - 13:50
Delivery Mode
: All course components will be delivered in-person.
Spring 2025 Term Dates
: Thursday, May 1, 2025, to Monday, June 30, 2025
Qualifications:
Candidates will ideally have a Ph.D. in chemistry (or a related field) and a strong, substantial record demonstrating teaching excellence.
The appointees will be expected to remain abreast of current developments in science, particularly in Chemistry.
Previous experience in teaching Chemistry 201, 203, or 209 is an important asset.
Experience coordinating laboratories and/or teams of graduate student teaching assistants is especially valuable, as is familiarity with the campus learning management system, D2L.
