The

Department of Biological Sciences

within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a

Fall 2025 Term

Sessional Instructor.


The successful candidate will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties (course co-ordination, lab coordination) for this 3-unit course. This course incorporates elements from high school biology, introductory university biology, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing. This course will provide students with a solid foundation in Biological Sciences for students with Biology 20 in order to successfully undertake a degree program that requires Biology 30 as a pre-requisite. The course will serve as a pre-requisite to Biology 211/213 in lieu of Biology 30.

Biology 212 Biological Ways of Thinking



This exploration course is designed to build up knowledge and bridge gaps in biology to prepare students for further study in biology and to meet the biology requirements for their program of study. This course parallels elements from high school biology and introductory university biology with Indigenous Ways of Knowing.

Teaching Schedule:

M 6:00-8:45PM

Delivery Mode:

All course components will be delivered in-person.

Fall 2025 Term Dates:

Monday, August 25th, 2025 Wednesday, December 24th, 2025.

Qualifications:



The successful candidate requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree (BSc) in one of the biological sciences, a Bachelors degree in Education, and teaching experience.


Experience is also required in course design and curriculum development that incorporates Indigenous Ways of Knowing and elements from high school biology and introductory university biology.
