Course Description: This course is to provide a scientific foundation of environmental science to better understand the driving mechanisms of key environmental problems and therefore the scientific aspects of addressing these problems. The course covers the fundamentals of environment science including, systems theory and major earth system processes, environmental change and impact caused by various sectors, climate change, ozone depletion and air pollution. The scientific aspects of these environmental issues will be analyzed using a systems approach and case studies to investigate such issues in real-life context.
Description of Duties: Typical duties may include invigilation, grading term exams and assignments, compiling grades, adding to course content as appropriate.Additional duties may include: setting up and/or maintaining Quercus course site; and hosting weekly office hours.
Est. Total Required Hours: 50hours
Rate: $47.67 per hour
Enrolment: 50 students
Qaulifications: Min. Requirement: Preferably a PhD student (Doctoral Candidate) in Environmental Science or a graduate student with research interest as it pertains to Environmental Science.
Preferred Requirement: Preference given to applicants with previous TA experience in this or equivalent course(s).
