The Department of Literatures, Languages and Performing Arts at Thompson Rivers University, Williams Lake Campus, is inviting applications for a sessional lecturer position in FNLG 1000 - Introduction to First Nations Language 1 (St'at'imc).





This course will introduce students to the First Nations language.

Emphasis will be placed on developing listening and speaking skills,

conversational ability, and knowledge of grammatical structures.

Little or no prior knowledge of the language is the expected entry level for this course.


QUALIFICATIONS
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action to recognize the importance of Elders to our campus and our students learning of traditional ways of knowing and languages. In this spirit, TRU acknowledges Elders and traditional knowledge keepers as valued educators.


Experience as a St'at'imc language teacher Advanced fluency in comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing St'at'imc Master's Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience Previous post-secondary teaching experience preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills
