Job Title: Fuel and Lube Service Person (Seasonal) The Fuel and Lube Service Person is responsible to ensure the safety and efficiency of all Pelly\xe2\x80\x99s mobile equipment, in the field. Safely change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of light vehicles or heavy equipment, replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment, assist, perform and document required and scheduled preventative maintenance and fueling of all equipment when required. Fuel & Lube Technicians will be in frequent contact with fluids for the vehicles such as windshield washer, coolant, diesel, gasoline and oil. It is the responsibility of the Fuel and Lube Service Person, to complete these tasks in a safe and efficient manner to avoid injury to themselves or others or damage to the equipment, other property or to the environment. Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to): \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in adherence to safety practices, procedures and work site regulations and promote safe work behaviour in others; \xc2\xb7 Perform a wide variety of tasks including daily lubrication, servicing and fueling of all equipment as needed; \xc2\xb7 Perform preventative maintenance servicing and basic mechanical repairs as required; \xc2\xb7 Operate all heavy equipment in a safe, efficient and environmentally proficient manner, following all safety standard operating procedures and task-specific protocols implemented; \xc2\xb7 Operate fuel/lube trucks to safely service heavy equipment in the field, as required and directed \xc2\xb7 Complete equipment inspections, report repairs required and assist in scheduling these repairs \xc2\xb7 Ensures any JHA\xe2\x80\x99s and daily pre-trip/walk-around inspections are completed on each unit operated, as required and turned into the Foremen and/or Superintendent; \xc2\xb7 Maintaining stock (oils/lubes/filters etc.) based on future servicing requirements; \xc2\xb7 Documentation of work orders, services, oil samples; \xc2\xb7 Shipping of oil samples off site; \xc2\xb7 Assisting mechanics with unplanned breakdowns and repairs, as required; \xc2\xb7 Completes their daily equipment logs, service reports and safety checks; \xc2\xb7 Clean and grease the equipment, as necessary; \xc2\xb7 Perform housekeeping functions; \xc2\xb7 Park the equipment in a safe manner when not in use; \xc2\xb7 Perform periodic safety, maintenance or service checks to ensure proper functions of the equipment; \xc2\xb7 Respond to signals and directions by staff and work in coordination with them; \xc2\xb7 Maintain a valid Class 3 (or better) driver\xe2\x80\x99s license at all times; \xc2\xb7 Other duties may be assigned by your Supervisor, as required. The Ideal Candidate: Required Skills/Experience \xc2\xb7 2+ years experience working in an industrial environment with previous equipment experience; \xc2\xb7 Must have valid \xc2\xb7 Class 3 license (or better) with Air Brakes and clean abstract; \xc2\xb7 Have a Safety-Focused approach to work, and ability to handle and assist in emergency situations; \xc2\xb7 Methods and techniques for proper set up of the equipment to maximize efficiency; \xc2\xb7 Must have a strong work ethic that allows him/her to demonstrate their ability to work under minimal supervision; \xc2\xb7 Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to speak, read and write English, is required; \xc2\xb7 Must have physical ability to withstand long hours in a strenuous and potentially high hazard work environment; \xc2\xb7 Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment \xe2\x80\x93 ability to lift/move up to 50lbs; \xc2\xb7 Excellent time management, problem solving and trouble shooting skills; \xc2\xb7 Strong commitment to be a team player, build trust and be accountable; \xc2\xb7 Able to work independently with minimal supervision; \xc2\xb7 A high level of self-management & personal leadership skills; \xc2\xb7 Proactive and punctual; \xc2\xb7 Eagerness to learn and grow \xc2\xb7 Able to work remotely from home, typically on a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation (exact rotation to be determined depending on the project needs); \xc2\xb7 Able to work 12-hour shifts (either days or nights as needed); \xc2\xb7 Successfully pass Fit for Duty pre-employment testing (drug and alcohol screening), if required. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee will be exposed to extensive moderate to heavy manual labour for prolonged periods of time. This will include ongoing maintenance and cleaning of working area. Worker will be required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. Ability to climb ladders is necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include acute central and peripheral vision as well as depth and color perception. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high. Dusty working conditions could also necessitate the need for a respirator to be worn.
