Job Title: Fuel & Lube Truck Operator
Location: Yukon Gold mine
Base Rate: $32.50/hr
OT: Paid after 8 hours at $48.75/hr
Schedule: 14X14 - 12-hour days
Accommodations: Camp Setting
Paid Travel Time: Up to 4 hours on your travel days

Big Country Equipment was formed in 2017. We have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to over 100 employees and a fleet of 30 plus fully tooled service trucks, taking care of customers throughout Western Canada 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.As a Fuel & Lube Truck Operator, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of servicing a broad array of construction and mining equipment, including Excavators, Dozers, Haul Trucks, Rock Trucks, Graders, and Loaders within a mining environment. Your role will entail lubricating components, fueling machinery, and changing oil/grease on off-road construction and mining equipment. You will be expected to operate the fuel and lube trucks safely and responsibly and maintain an effective working relationship with the maintenance department.In this role, you would not stay up in the Yukon indefinitely and have the opportunity to move to different locations within BC at the company.This role also provides a unique opportunity for the right candidates to progress into a Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship position.Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with colleagues in a clear and professional manner.
  • Fuel and grease all equipment daily.
  • Oil and filter changes.
  • Safely manage the fuel/lube truck in the service of large machinery.
  • Implement regular maintenance tasks on-site.
  • Oversee and stockpile essential supplies such as service kits, lubricants, and oils.
  • Chronicle maintenance histories and pertinent paperwork.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed, contributing to the overall mechanical availability of production equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel when required.
Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidates will have experience working with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, or Hitachi heavy equipment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience operating a fuel and lube truck is required.
  • Experience driving wiggle wagons and other articulated vehicles and rock trucks will be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Being enrolled in a pre-apprenticeship or as a first-year heavy-duty technician will be considered an asset.
  • Mining industry experience will be considered an asset.
  • Clean 5-year history driver\'s abstract.
  • Class 1 and or 3 licenses are required.
  • Familiar with detailed paperwork and understanding of fluids and lubricants used in mining equipment operations.
  • Must pass an 8-panel drug test (This includes Marijuana).
  • Must pass a breath alcohol test.
  • Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts, day or night, under all weather conditions and live in remote camps on a rotational schedule.
