Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring that all customer needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires a blend of strong customer service skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to upsell services effectively.

Duties

Greet customers upon arrival and assess their service needs. Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately. Provide detailed estimates for repairs and services based on customer requests and mechanical assessments. Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer information and ensure timely service. Manage the service schedule to optimize workflow and minimize customer wait times. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and services rendered. Upsell additional services or products that may benefit the customer's vehicle performance or longevity. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further concerns.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within an automotive dealership or recreational dealership or repair environment. Strong sales skills with a track record of successful upselling. Basic mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle repair processes. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both customers and team members. Experience in cash handling and financial transactions is preferred. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn about automotive services. Previous experience as a mechanic or in automotive repair is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.74 per hour
