Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, recommending repairs, and ensuring a seamless service experience. A strong background in dealership or mechanic environments, combined with excellent communication skills, is essential to succeed in this role. The Service Writer will also assist with upselling services and managing cash handling processes to support the overall profitability of the service department.

Responsibilities



Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a positive rapport. Accurately document vehicle concerns and repair requests, ensuring clear communication between customers and technicians. Provide detailed explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance services, leveraging mechanical knowledge to inform customers effectively. Recommend additional services or repairs that may benefit the customer, utilizing upselling techniques to enhance service sales. Prepare repair orders, estimate costs, and communicate timelines clearly to customers. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper records of all financial dealings. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.

Requirements



Previous dealership or mechanic experience highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Sales aptitude with experience in upselling automotive services. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Familiarity with automotive repair terminology and procedures is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and communication. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
