Job Description

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Service Truck Driver in Kenora, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position available with a pension and benefit package, as well as ongoing driver training and room for growth and advancement. All hires will be trained regardless of experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Safely load, tie down, immobilize, and secure all equipment and materials in a safe manner in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) guidelines. Assist in loading and unloading equipment. Maintain accurate electronic hours of service and vehicle inspection logs in accordance with MTO regulations, and all related delivery paperwork. Perform daily pre-op and post-op inspections on equipment and attend daily safety meetings. Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, load security, and ever-changing conditions. Identify, report and correct hazards. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers. Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment. Work schedule including evenings and weekends when required. Travel to various job sites including out of town with overnight stays when required. Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid AZ license with a clean driver's abstract is required. Minimum 1 year AZ driving experience. Experience driving a service truck is considered an asset. Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset. High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate service truck in winter and summer works, operations, and maintenance Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Including the ability to take direction from supervisors. Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
