Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy supporting multiple high-touch clients? We are looking for an experienced Service Specialist to join the largest Health Benefit insurer in Canada! In this role, you will be responsible for servicing an in-force block of business as well as participating in the acquisition and installation of new business by working closely with the Implementation Team and new clients during the implementation process to success. You will also participate in project related activities to support client and region goals.

What will you do?

Arrange service calls with clients and meet to discuss and understand client goals and requirements, promote Sun Life group benefit products and services, and gather critical data for the installation of new business

Train and update plan administrators, members and advisors on our E-Services and administrative practices, and prepare for and participate in employee presentations, finalist presentations, meetings, and benefits fairs (travel is required)

Work closely with the Implementation Team and new clients during the implementation process to successfully install new business; Prepare revisions and implement plan design changes, and manage target dates with clients and Consultants

Provide on-going support to Plan Administrators and Consultants by actively finding solutions to issues, and share ideas with team members that could improve service delivery and processes

Develop strong working relationships with clients and internal partners through understanding their needs and wants, and being proactive in meeting these needs

What will you need to succeed?

Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license are essential to fulfill the travel requirements of this role

Post-secondary education and 3 - 5 years of group insurance experience with a strong knowledge of Group Benefits products and services; GBA certification is an asset

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a passion for customer service and a knack for building and maintaining strong working relationships

Strong problem solving and negotiation skills, with a high-level understanding of the new sale and renewal process

Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
