This part-time position reports to the Manager of Client Services.
Responsibilities
Performs all duties associated with the Client Services desk: greeting clients, checking in and out of material, enrolling new membership, and efficiently resolving matters related to fines due to lost and/or damaged material as well as other client issues;
Instructs clients in the use of the Library, including the use of the online public access catalogue (OPAC), printing, ebooks, tablets and the internet;
Answers reference questions (i.e., Do you have the latest book? Where is it? How do I find it?, etc) and refers more complex questions to the Manager of Client Services or the CEO;
Performs reader's advisory and receives readers' suggestions as well as forwards their own on matters of new acquisitions and services;
Regularly performs a shelf reading and may assist pages in the same task;
Prepares and repairs material for the collection as well as manages the supplies required;
Maintains the neat appearance of the Library and of their work area.
Other Duties
Opens and closes the branch;
Will be required to work weekdays, evenings and Saturdays;
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager of Client Services or the CEO;
Will be required to work at both branches and must have reliable transportation;
May be asked to do extra hours;
May be requested to attend staff meetings, OLS workshops and other training opportunities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or currently working towards one;
Flawless communication skills in both official languages;
Excellent public service and customer relation skills;
Superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
Excellent organizational skills;
As part of team, ability and willingness to respond flexibly to assignments and changing tasks;
Proficiency with computers, knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and some social media;
A valid Ontario Class ''G'' driver's license and use of an automobile could be an asset.

Ce poste a temps partiel se rapporte au gestionnaire des services a la clientele.
Responsabilites
Effectue toutes les taches associees au comptoir des services a la clientele : accueillir les clients, preter et retourner le materiel, inscrire les nouveaux membres et resoudre efficacement les problemes lies aux amendes pour perte et/ou dommage de materiel, ainsi que d'autres problemes lies aux clients ;
Vient en aide aux clients de tout age en matiere d'orientation, d'utilisation du catalogue en ligne, de l'imprimante, des livres electroniques, des tablettes et de l'internet ;
Repond aux questions de reference (par exemple, avez-vous le dernier livre ? Ou est-il ? Comment puis-je le trouver ? etc.) et refere les questions plus complexes au gestionnaire des services a la clientele, ou a la directrice generale ;
Effectue un service de conseil aux lecteurs et recoit les suggestions des lecteurs ainsi que transmettre les siennes en matiere de nouvelles acquisitions et de nouveaux services ;
Effectue regulierement la lecture des rayons et peut aider les pages dans la meme tache ;
Prepare et repare les items de la collection et est responsable de l'inventaire des fournitures necessaires ;
Maintient la proprete de son espace de travail et de la bibliotheque.

Ouvre et ferme la bibliotheque ;
Doit travailler les jours, les soirs et les samedis ;
Effectue toute autre responsabilite connexe assignee par le gestionnaire des services a la clientele ou la directrice generale ;
Doit travailler dans les deux succursales et disposer d'un moyen de transport fiable ;
Peut-etre appele a faire du temps supplementaire ;
Peut etre demande de participer aux reunions du personnel, aux ateliers du SBO et a toute autre formation selon les exigences de la directrice generale.
Qualifications
Diplome d'etudes secondaires ou en voie de l'obtenir ;
Aptitudes a communiquer sans faille dans les deux langues officielles ;
Competences excellentes de service public et de relation avec la clientele ;
Competences superieures en relations interpersonnelles et en resolution de conflits ;
Excellentes methodes d'organisation ;
En faisant partie d'une equipe, l'habilite et la volonte de repondre a la flexibilite de changement de taches ;
Capacite de travailler efficacement avec les ordinateurs, les applications Microsoft courantes, l'internet et certains medias sociaux ;
Permis de conduire valide de la classe G de l'Ontario et acces a une automobile sera un avantage.
