When there is no room for error, and product failure is not an option, leading life sciences companies trust us to resolve their production challenges.MAJOR DUTIES:Assume responsibility for the life of the project with regards to budget, schedule and customer satisfaction, from receipt of purchase order through final installation and acceptance at the customers site. Responsible for handling both warranty and non-warranty service opportunities directly with the Customer.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:xc2xb7 Supervises and oversees the ATS team to complete projects efficiently according to established schedules, budgets and consistent with specified quality standards.xc2xb7 Primary contact for both internal and external customer with service requirements.xc2xb7 Works with team members of all departments to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced safely, enhanced functionality, and reduced cost.xc2xb7 Supports the design teams and other Project Managers in all project-related issues.xc2xb7 Focuses on managing risks of all projects.xc2xb7 Ensures that all problems related to tasks are being addressed and tasks are progressing as effectively as possible.xc2xb7 Holds team communications meetings on a regular basis.xc2xb7 Advocates and fosters a team environment both within the department and throughout the division.xc2xb7 Encourages and mentors employees to ensure that the build teams morale and efficiency is maintained at the highest level.xc2xb7 Accountable for all aspects of the project including; delivery, performance to schedule, performance to budget and cash flow.xc2xb7 Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction.xc2xb7 Follow in-house guidelines and standards to direct the daily project activities and coordinate the work of the members of the project team, through managers, to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities.xc2xb7 Plan and monitor/control the project from the receipt of the order through delivery of services at the customers site and serve as the key customer contact.xc2xb7 Communicate project progress.xc2xb7 Attend the project status meeting as requested by the Director, Technical Servicesxc2xb7 Track all contract changes with a written Change Order Request and maintain a revision summary with respect to cost and sell value of project.xc2xb7 Ensure that the order received from the customer is compatible with the terms of engineering specifications in the proposal.xc2xb7 Create and maintain a project cost forecast comparison of budget to actual for the life of the project.xc2xb7 Conduct regular project meetings with both in-house personnel and with the customer and record and distribute the minutes for these meetings in the prescribed form.xc2xb7 Act as primary customer contact for design, costing and machine-related issues.xc2xb7 Manage the schedule of all project phases and milestones, update schedules and initiate corrective action through the department managers.xc2xb7 Conduct Initial Project Build Plan meeting to confirm budgets and schedules for the life of the project.xc2xb7 Monitor progress of the project during design, build and installation by reviewing the performance of the team members against the project schedule. Resolve conflicts through the department managers and supervisors.xc2xb7 Coordinate travel plans for ATS personnel.xc2xb7 Responsible for obtaining contract acceptance.xc2xb7 Some travel may be required.xc2xb7 Inform ATS management of cost of labour overruns and formulate actions to keep project on time and on budget.xc2xb7 Instruct all vendors as to conduct while at ATS; including observing all safety rules and completing our ATS Contractor Program Form.xc2xb7 Assist Technical Services Management in resolving account receivable issuesxc2xb7 Assist Technical Services Management in employee performance evaluations and interviews with new personnel.QualificationsEducation:Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering. Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.Experience:xc2xb7 Must have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and construction team.xc2xb7 Must have acted in a leading role in a variety of projects/markets on a multidiscipline team.xc2xb7 Must have a practical working knowledge of robots, PLCs, instrumentation or other machine controls packages, sensors and pneumatics.xc2xb7 Preference will be given to those who possess an excellent manufacturing or process engineering background, a superior mechanical aptitude and proven trouble-shooting skills.xc2xb7 An ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential.xc2xb7 In addition, must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing and computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.xc2xb7 Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment often under pressure filled conditions.xc2xb7 Requires excellent interpersonal skills and strong business acumen.If you're excited about this role, but do not meet all the qualifications listed above, you are still encouraged to applyWhy YOU should join our ATS Life Sciences Systems team:We value our PEOPLE - The foundation of a great company is having the best team which is why we continuously work to develop, engage, empower and energize our people.
