Job Description

Purpose



The Project Lead (PL) ensures that his/her assigned project or order is completed on time and within budget, in compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW) if applicable, to the satisfaction of the client.

He/she will coordinate and be assisted with resources from ROCK Networks and/or third parties as applicable including account managers, service, engineering, logistics, finance, electrical contractors or antenna, tower rigging services. The PL plays a critical role in leading the Service delivery and meeting targets to avoid cost overruns and completion delays.

Key Functions:



Must be able to troubleshoot and repair complex wireless systems in the shop and at a customer premises, using all test equipment as encountered in a typical telecommunication environment. Must be able to read, understand, and in some cases create, technical manuals, schematics, test procedures and related documentation. Oversees and mentors technicians in the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of wireless radios, microwave systems, telephone systems, and other electronic communication, monitoring, and accessory equipment. When assigned as a PL on an opportunity or project, the PL will: Assist Account Manager and Engineering Lead in determining customer requirements and provide input to possible solutions, design, etc. Lead the creation of the Workplan with work level estimates and schedule to execute the project Follow the SOW in project delivery, and in particular the workplan, BOM, and schedule Coordinate with customers, subcontractors and suppliers to set project expectations and clearly communicate and manage their participation Track and be responsible for project time and expenses against SOW Report on project status for customer and/or ROCK, typically bi-weekly Keeps project in scope, and identifies and defers out-of scope requests to Account Manager and Engineering Lead for possible Change Order Identifies and mitigates project issues to ensure project success Completes Commissioning documentation provided by Engineering Lead and creates and completes Punch List if required. Works with the Service Manager on items such as prioritization, resource planning, scheduling, training plans and project billing Stays fully aware of ROCK's safety policies and procedures, and is responsible to see that they are appropriately followed on his/her projects and orders

Secondary Functions:



Familiarizes himself/herself with new technologies, products and test equipment. Documents the procedure to be used for key tasks or equipment and shared with ROCK Networks technical team The PL may be responsible to lead one of ROCK's service offerings (for example, two-way radio, broadband or mobile devices). In this capacity the PL will: Develop ROCKs technical knowledge, toolkit and relationships to deliver and support sales of that technical area Be the ultimate "go-to" person for technical questions and coaching related to that area Be the likely lead for major projects involving that area working with Engineering & Sales Cross training of the technical staff is the responsibility of the PL Completes Service Work Orders and commissioning reports as required, which is to be both neat and legible. Ensures paper and electronic information is appropriately filed to be available to his/herself and others as appropriate Works orders are to be accurate and completed in a timely fashion. His/her time cards are to be a mirror image of their Great Plains entries. Communicates with customers in a clear precise professional manner Keeps their work station in addition to all service areas neat and clean. Works within the service team ensuring that all service vehicles look like #1 Represents ROCK Networks to clients in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Competencies:



Must be a graduate of a recognized technical or trade school preferable in communications or electronics with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar environment. Must be able to take responsibility of project work plans, timelines while staying within budget. Must be competent in completing project documentation on time. Must be a role model to others. Should have internal system knowledge, in addition to being a neat hand writer. Must be customer oriented, with neat appearance and good communicator. Must have completed or willing to complete mandatory safety training as required by ROCK Networks or their customers. Clean provincial driving abstract.

Key Working Relationships:



Reports to the ROCK Sales and Service Manager Works closely with other Technical Services team members Works collaboratively with ROCK Sales & Engineering staff.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
