Reporting to the General Manager, the Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and leadership of the service department team and operations. Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead, manage and support the service department team to maximize their engagement and motivate them to achieve goals
  • Oversee and manage daily service operations to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators against forecast such as customer satisfaction scores, service revenue and technician productivity
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and the performance management of employees; all while being a coach and mentor to support employee development
  • Understand the manufacturer's warranty conditions and oversee warranty claims to ensure compliance with warranty policies
  • Manage budget, monitor KPIs and develop strategies to increase revenue and profitability
  • Work closely with the General Manager to forecast and develop financial and operational objectives
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure they receive an outstanding customer experience
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Experience as an Automotive Service Manager in a dealership; GM experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive repair process, diagnostics and customer service best practices
  • Proven leadership ability and teambuilding skills to effectively motivate, engage, manage and develop employees
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and relevant metrics to make data-driven decisions
  • A team player committed to working with leadership and employees to ensure goal alignment and achievement
  • Results driven with exceptional planning, organization and execution skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills including the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees
  • A valid Driver's License and satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
