The Opportunity:





We are recruiting for a

SERVICE COORDINATOR (Children's Crisis)




This is a contract full-time position until February 14, 2026 (35 hours per week- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) based at 234 St. Patrick St. E. Fergus.*


Reporting to the Manager, Children's Services, this position will provide crisis assessment and support for the mental health and addictions needs of high-risk children and youth from 6 to 18 years of age. This will include crisis assessment, safety planning, stabilization and skill development, and referral to other supports and services both within CMHA and the community. The Service Coordinator (Children's Crisis) is part of Children's Services and supports both Guelph and Wellington County.



The Service Coordinator (Children's Crisis) role will provide crisis assessments which includes rural hospital crisis assessments and Guelph General Hospital reassessments as requested. The successful candidate will go mobile as necessary based on the needs of the child/youth and risk issues. The successful candidate will carry a caseload and provide crisis assessments to the Guelph/Wellington hospitals.



Qualifications:


Degree/diploma in psychology, social work, or relevant health or social science field Three or more years of experience working with high-risk children and youth with complex needs Well-developed intake, referral, crisis assessment, intervention and brief support skills Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and also independently Knowledge of a broad range of mental health, addiction and concurrent issues Knowledge of our system's mental health and addiction supports and resources Good organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills Ability to work collaboratively in a busy inter-disciplinary setting and with formal and informal community resources Well-developed knowledge base of the various service systems within the catchment area Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers, database and word processing applications Demonstrated belief in the values and philosophy of CMHA WW Demonstrated sound clinical and practical judgement A valid driver's license, vehicle and insurance, as travel is required

CLASSIFICATION AND RATE OF PAY: Level 5 (OPSEU) - $32.74 to $39.90 per hour
