The company owns and operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, located in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Northwest Territories. In addition to its mining and exploration operations, Arctic Canadian has offices in Canada and Belgium.
Position Overview Reporting to the Superintendent \xe2\x80\x93 Mobile Maintenance, the Maintenance Service Advisor is responsible for analyzing, advising and leading changes to the company\xe2\x80\x99s asset management framework. Requirements for the Maintenance Service Advisor include; maintaining department processes, training documents, and primary interface between the department team leaders of maintenance execution, maintenance planning, supply chain and reliability. This position is working a 2 week on and 2 week off schedule at the Ekati mine site, NT.

This role is well suited for an individual who is an informal leader who is able to work independently to drive results without direct report accountability. The successful incumbent will be fluent in maintenance processes and procedures, must have experience in maintenance best practices, be a change leader and advocate and understand how to drive change. The ideal candidate will have strong informal leader skills, communication skills and collaborative skills. They must also portray the ability to listen to understand vs listening to respond and fix.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as the owner of Maintenance Monitor (equipment status reporter) and advise on, develop, facilitate and refine required changes, ensuring accuracy of the data inputs;
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all current work management processes, through regular audits, identify opportunities to continuously refine and improve effectiveness and efficiency of the work management procedure;
  • Subject matter expert on maintenance processes and procedures;
  • Audit work identification process for quality and consistency according to the standards of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Work Management Document;
  • Lead weekly equipment pre-schedule audits with the cross-functional team of production, maintenance planning and execution;
  • Review equipment backlog and interfacing with the reliability team, advise on \xe2\x80\x9crisk to business\xe2\x80\x9d concerns;
  • Act as the interface between production, supply chain, maintenance planning and execution teams to review and approve weekly maintenance schedules;
    • Interface with SCM on the delivery of kits to the floor in support of locked in schedule;
    • Assist TL with the work order close process;
    • Assist TL on planning/scheduling of any break in work within the locked schedule;
  • Audit work closing processes for accuracy and quality and advise on lead improvements;
  • Develop and provide training to all work management process stakeholders in-line with the work management processes;
  • Prepare and analyze weekly Key Performance Indicator reports;
  • Act as the owner of the Maintenance loss reporting process;
    • Audit and advise on quality and accuracy of recording production losses;
    • Analyze and report on production losses weekly;
    • Advise on improvements to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s loss reporting processes;
  • Increase efficiencies through continuous improvement and waste elimination;
  • Lead PM optimization projects;
  • Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis for equipment failure, process failure, or KPI gaps. \xe2\x80\x93 5 why\xe2\x80\x99s, causal fault trees, FMEA\xe2\x80\x99s;
  • 40% of time allocated to audit and inspections to ensure effective process, procedures and training in place.

Education/Experience
  • Technical related Degree or Diploma or Trade Certification (e.g. Mechanical, Maintenance Planner, etc.);
  • Minimum 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a maintenance management role;
  • Red Seal certification (technician) or Certified Engineering Technologist is an asset;
  • Ability to influence others and drive continuous improvement without direct reporting;
  • Emotional intelligence: is cooperative, collaborative, influences others, listens openly, negotiates and resolves disagreements;
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Experience with Asset Management Framework and best practices of work management processes;
  • Working knowledge of SAP and strong computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills.
  • Experience working in the mining industry, northern Canada, and an understanding of the northern regulatory environment is preferred
