Summary
The Service Advisor reports to the Operations Manager. They are responsible for welcoming customers and gathering the information necessary to identify and define vehicle repair and maintenance needs. They sell maintenance services, organize the work schedule, and ensure an excellent customer service experience. Additionally, the role requires creating video walk-arounds during vehicle check-ins and preparing videos when additional work is required.
Responsibilities
Welcome customers upon arrival and gather detailed information about their vehicles.
Perform video walk-arounds for vehicle check-ins and prepare detailed videos when additional work is recommended.
Explain the nature of the work and associated costs to customers.
Inform customers of recommended maintenance, promotions, and services provided by the dealership.
Open and close work orders accurately.
Respond to telephone requests for appointments and inquiries about ongoing work.
Schedule appointments for maintenance services.
Maintain accurate records of customer and vehicle information prior to service visits.
Accept vehicles based on customer descriptions and vehicle inspections, making appropriate repair recommendations.
Inform guests about safety inspection, and other maintenance services required by the manufacturer.
Accurately document vehicle issues reported by customers on the work order.
Assign tasks to technicians.
Test drive vehicles with customers as needed.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor and parts.
Determine work completion time frames and verify them with the shop dispatcher if necessary.
Contact customers promptly regarding any changes in estimates or completion timelines.
Act as a liaison between customers and the service department, providing updates and addressing concerns.
Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary components for repairs.
Strive to exceed customer expectations through exceptional service delivery.
Verify warranty coverage before initiating repairs.
Ensure that department forms, repair lists, and price lists are up to date.
Conduct quality inspections of completed work to meet established standards and customer expectations.
Actively participate in the quality control process.
Perform other duties as assigned within the department.
Education and Experience Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, a cleared driver's abstract, and a cleared criminal background check.
Previous experience in a similar position or in the automotive industry is an asset.

Manual dexterity required for computer and peripheral use.
Regular interaction with the public.
Repetitive work tasks.
Physical demanding
Exposure to shop conditions.
Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots
